Myopia Management – MiSight® 1 day contact lenses

Myopia – often referred to as nearsightedness – is a health condition that occurs when the eyeball becomes too long and causes light rays to focus incorrectly, making distance vision blurry. More than 40% of Americans have myopia and that number is increasing at an alarming rate, especially among school-aged children.¹²
Our practice is excited to now offer an innovative approach to managing myopia through CooperVision’s Brilliant Futures™ Myopia Management Program. The cornerstone of this program is the MiSight® 1 day contact lenses – the first and only soft contact lenses specifically designed for myopia control and FDA-approved* to slow its progression in children, aged 8-12 at initiation of treatment.†³ Age-appropriate children can apply the daily wear, single use contact lenses in the morning, wear them for the recommended 10 or more hours per day, then dispose of them in the evening.

The Brilliant Futures™ Myopia Management Program extends several benefits to children and parents, including:

  • A transparent, defined protocol for care, meaning parents are aware of everything included in the program, including services and lenses.
  • Free product shipping and returns, creating no-hassle product availability for parents.
  • An interactive mobile app to keep parents engaged with their child’s program of care by providing convenient access to myopia management information, lens handling instructions and videos, appointment scheduling and reminders, product ordering and more.

* Indications for use: MiSight® 1 day (omafilcon A) soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses for daily wear are indicated for the correction of myopic ametropia and for slowing the progression of myopia in children with non-diseased eyes, who at the initiation of treatment are 8-12 years of age and have a refraction of -0.75 to -4.00 diopters (spherical equivalent) with ≤ 0.75 diopters of astigmatism. The lens is to be discarded after each removal.

†Compared to a single vision 1 day lens over a 3 year period.
